Funny story....

So, I was going sailing. I needed various kit that I hadn't bought to Edinburgh, so I had stuff courier down from home, 24hr express. It was to be delivered straight to the post office, as i'd be at work. Yup, worked, lovely. Only in between the delivery of the expensive package, and me coming to collect it, the PO lost the parcel. They accidentely managed to send it back out in a post bag. So all that extra insurance I paid for stopped when it got delivered to the PO, and there's like £400 worth of equipment in a parcel that is not being traced. And i'm meant to be going sailing, only I have no shoes or clothes of sleeping bag.

It is alarming to discover that Citylink are not the worst and cheapest delivery company out there, HomeDeliveryNetwork is. The parcel is worth approximately 3p, yet they won't leave it without a signature- even in a flat building where you need a key or the warden to enter. They will only deliver when I am guaranteed to not be in (not taking time off work for 3ps worth of books). They won't redeliver to any other address . They're impossible to get hold of on the phone. Seriously.. just keep the parcel, I don't even care anymore!

I may have absent-mindedly agreed to go sailing this weekend. I've ever been sailing before, and the last time I went whale watching I was sea sick.

Its weird, have massive todo list at home. None of it applies here! What to do this weekend...

Am back from holiday, all went well, barring a small accident involving me and a swamp on the way home. Broke my phone. It is impossible for me to keep a pair of shoes dry whilst holidaying in the lake district! It was all going so well until the swamp incident!

Am in Edinburgh, have found flat. Its huge! Very executive looking, including a gift of wine on the table from the property people! Need to buy bedding before sleeptime, off to scope out an asda.

RAH!

Yeah, I've been somewhat absent.. since I went to China.. 3 years ago! And to be honest nothign very interesting has happened since then.

almost, anyway. I have now finished university. thats right, FINISHED! That timer to the right has been counting down days until I finished uni, and its over! That timer has been going since I came back from Africa. Its probably taken me about that long to get oevr missing Africa.

So, now what? Well I have a Summer job in Edinburgh which will be nice. It was a very hotly contested job, and I'm still kind of amazed I got it. But if you look at all the things they tell you to do in secondary school to ensure you get into uni/get a job, I've done them all. I've done voluntery work, every single summer between the terms of university I have done some form of placement. I haven't done any of it on purpose either, I just seem to have fit into the system quite well.

I still wander how things woudl have gone had I stayed in Reading, but I've quite liked this last year at uni (apart from the immense amount of work, that is).

Here's to what is next.
